TapMe is a Sri Lanka-based company that provides smart NFC business cards and associated digital profile services through our website at tapme.lk.

2. Information We Collect

Account & order information: When you register or place an order, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and delivery address.

Profile information: When you set up your digital profile, we collect the details you choose to share — such as job title, company name, social media links, and profile photo.

Payment information: Payments are processed by PayHere. We receive only a payment confirmation and transaction reference. We never see or store your card number or bank credentials.

WhatsApp orders: If you order via WhatsApp and send a bank deposit receipt, we store the information contained in that receipt to verify and confirm your order.

Usage data: We automatically collect basic usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and device type to improve our service. This data is not linked to your identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

To process and fulfil your order — verify payment, manufacture your NFC card, and arrange delivery.

To host and serve your digital profile page at tapme.lk/card/[username].

To communicate with you — send order confirmation emails, delivery updates, and respond to your support enquiries.

To improve our service — analyse anonymised usage patterns to enhance our website and products.

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

PayHere: We use PayHere to securely process online payments. PayHere is PCI-DSS compliant. Your payment data is governed by PayHere's own privacy policy.

Email delivery: We use an SMTP service to send transactional emails (order confirmations, status updates). Email content may include your name and order details.

WhatsApp: If you contact us or order via WhatsApp, your messages are subject to Meta's privacy policy.

We only share the minimum necessary data with these services to perform the functions described.

5. Your Public Digital Profile

Your TapMe digital profile (tapme.lk/card/[username]) is publicly accessible by design — this is the core purpose of the product. Anyone with the link or your NFC card can view it.

You have full control over what appears on your profile. You can update or remove any information at any time from your dashboard.

If you close your account, your public profile page will be taken offline within a reasonable timeframe.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in to your dashboard. These cookies are required for the service to function and cannot be disabled.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking scripts on our website.

7. Data Security

All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS (SSL/TLS).

Passwords are hashed using a one-way algorithm and are never stored in plain text.

Access to customer data is restricted to authorised TapMe staff only, on a need-to-know basis.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely immune to security risks. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your TapMe account.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and order records for as long as your account remains active or as required by applicable law.

If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you.
